ISCGB All Aged FT at Bretby Estate, Staffordshire 15 January 2008

This is the ISCGB first Field Trial to be held at the Bretby Estate by kind permission of Mr RAH Perkins DL. A big thank you goes the Steve Bloomfield the gamekeeper and his team of guns and helpers for making us most welcome and being so helpful throughout the day. The Field trial was held in the vast woods of the estate where there was enough game and challenging ground for the dogs and handlers at this level of field trial. A varied mix of HPR were present  – GSP x 1, LM x 1, GLP x 1, W x 1, HWV x 2, GWP x 2, KG x 1 and not forgetting IS x 3.

The day started off very wet…but by lunch time the rain had gone and been replace by clear sky. All the dogs had game on there runs – mostly Pheasant with the odd Woodcock. At the end of the day only three dogs went to the water. Two of these dogs decided that they had got wet enough throughout the day and refused to get any wetter.

The atmosphere throughout the day was of cheerful competitors and friendly banter, this was also picked up by the under gamekeeper who commented on how relaxed and friendly everyone was.
